Neos Smartcams offer excellent value for money with loads of functionality.
(I am an owner of multiple Nest cameras (indoor and outdoor) as well as Amazon Blink Cameras and have been using NEOS Smart cameras for over 6 months.) The cameras themselves are very well made and seem great quality. Camera comes complete with USB power supply, cable, camera, metal wall plate and sticker and a warning window sticker. Out of the box you need to setup the camera using software that is available on apple and google stores. The setup itself is extremely simple and once you enter wifi details into phone or tablet you will be shown a barcode. Just point the camera at the barcode and setup is complete. you can then name camera etc and update firmware. The quality of image is excellent and rivals the Nest cameras. (The 1080p ones, not the Nest 4k) There is clearly a lot of compression going on but it's not enough to take away from the cameras purpose. They record at 1080p and can be set to send video at a lower quality 720p if required. Night recording is also Excellent quality thanks to the built in UV lights. (Outdoor night picture attached) The software allows you to set movement zones, alarms, playback footage and adjust things like video quality, motion and sound sensitivity etc. You can even live view or take video and pictures if you want to. It does offer the ability to record your voice and talk to the camera but the speaker in the camera is small and weak so don't expect to much. The cameras will trigger on movement and 12 second recordings are available for review. You also will get alerts sent to your phone/tablet. These can be a little annoying in busy areas but you can configure and adjust sensitivities and only alert based on zones etc. NEOS offer a subscription service. At time of writing for ยฃ2.50 a month you can upgrade to 1 minute recordings and much more configuration options such as automated arming. On the agreement it states that this subscription covers 3 cameras however I have not been charged and have 4 with full service. There is a message on website (Nov 2020) that they are not enforcing the 3 camera limit at this time but may in future. If you are installing multiple cameras in same room then you can use the USB port on the back of the unit to power second camera (up to 3 can be daily chained) to limit the number of sockets required. This is very useful for multiple angles in same room. The camera has a micro SD card slot and if you decide to add one (Max 32GB) it will locally record in a round robin way deleting oldest recordings. This is very useful in that you can view the short clips on the NEOS app but also see all footage if you should need to. Just remember it overwrites depending on the size of SD card you install. You have to remove the cards to review the footage at this time. Neos have hinted that they will allow remove retrieval but don't rely on this. The cameras themselves are exactly the same as Wyze cameras. You cannot re-flash them to be Wyze cameras without significant technical know how and difficulty however you don't really need to. The cameras are for indoor use. I have however recently purchased an outside cover for the camera. Whilst the outdoor case itself is only slightly weatherproof with a little silicon I think it will hold up OK. For the low cost of these cameras I think it's worth the risk. Overall I think the Neos Smart cameras are excellent value for money and even after upgrading to the subscription service. Neos themselves are part of the AVIVA group so considered relatively safe from a privacy perspective and the cameras themselves are based on a proven and trusted platform. I think for indoor usage it offers better value for money over Nest products. Blink cameras would also serve as an alternative however the subscription service on these from Amazon is not clear at time of writing this review. Either way. If you are looking for a cheap 1080p camera for the home I think you should look at the Neos Smartcam.

Not 7 Days Recording
First of all the reality is that this is a cracking little camera that is almost cute in it's design - intentional of course - is well made and the system works brilliantly. However, lets make a correction. The Amazon description is incorrect when it states that recordings are kept for seven days on the cloud. They are not. Each 12 second clip is saved for 24 hours - which of course you can download. All is not lost of course because, you can insert a microSD card and run on a continuous loop making your own recordings which, you can download. Simple, easy and cheap and will of course avoid the eventual roll out costs of a long term on line storage subscription. The above advertising niggle aside, this is a brilliant bit of kit. Genuinely well made with an appealing design. Even more impressive is the cost which, is cheap as chips for what it is, especially being UK designed (not manufactured of course) and supported. Easy to set up. Really easy especially with the no nonsense videos. Now, I do see some people hating the idea of registering details. Well, if you use the internet and of course IP cameras with online storage it is a fact of life. All IP camera companies want this information but, I trust NEOS more than most because it is a British company based in the UK and is allied to the largest insurance company in the UK as well. You are as safe as any internet based camera system can be. If you don't want that 'risk' then buy a NVR and POE cameras and don't connect to the internet. I wanted this for outside to be honest, despite being an indoor camera. So, I bought a small enclosure for it and put it near my hedgehog feeding station to keep an eye on Spiney. Works a treat. Only one more thing to note, is that on the Neos website it's sold at twenty quid so cheaper than here.

Thumbs up for In lieu of a baby monitor!
We bought this in Lieu of a traditional baby monitor! And it works a treat! The picture quality both day and night is great and itโs actually situated quite far away from our internet hub so was actually pleasantly surprised! A very slight delay in motion/noise detection but interestingly since we have upgraded our internet provider and internet has quickened up this has improved greatly (assuming not just coincidence๐ค). Compact and neat, the app is easy to use and understand, and was super quick to set up! Only things itโs missing as a โbaby monitorโ is obviously using your mobile as the video screen not a separate hand held device and a room temperature but we have a separate room thermometer which we can see on the life video anyway! Overall really pleased with this little piece of kit and for the money vs actual video baby monitors it was a no brainier, even if when we got it, it didnโt meet what we wanted (which so far it does), we still thought it would be really useful just as a little security camera!

I was dubious of these but now have 8 of them covering all non-private areas of my property. The wire leading to them is flat enough to clip with small 3M clips so they arenโt prominent or you could place them in trunking. The base of the camera is magnetic and because of this it is incredibly easy to mount anywhere. I currently use two as baby monitors, and the other 8 for home security. I have two facing through windows into the garden. With all cameras you can individually set the sensitivity for motion and noise detection, meaning the garden cameras work great and only detect large objects (people) not small objects (birds and bushes). The setup process isnโt too intrusive - the address information is just use to get a GPS pointer on a map - which you can move anyway. I put a different address and moved the pointer. Setup also takes around 5 minutes per camera, including firmware updates. One thing I did find is that I needed to crash the iPhone app after 5 minutes of the firmware installing because it got stuck. But this didnโt impact the camera or connectivity at all. Night vision works great and image quality is ok - but not 100% fantastic. For the price of the camera the image quality is amazing. The two way communication works well with minimal delay. I did use auto arming for a while, but I had currently disable this as the app doesnโt seem to locate my wifeโs phone well. We both have iPhones but hers seems to disconnect from the app. Meaning she will go home and I get notifications saying movement in the house. Before this issue it worked well. The Alexa skills are ok, but slightly slow to load (10-15 seconds). However if you have cameras in separate building or a garage and want to have a peek at midnight it is very convenient. This works on Fire TV and Echo Show. The app is great and constantly updated. The cameras only take a few seconds to load if you have a good signal. You get a snapshot from the last half hour or so on the home screen then you can go into each camera for a live view. It saves 5 second clips when the house is armed and motion or noise is detected. If you put a micro SD card in then it records constantly and overwrites old data first. These clips are saved into 1 minute files in folders on the SD card. Currently you can only view this on a PC - which is no big deal. I believe the developer is currently looking to introduce a viewing mechanism in the app. You can turn the power light off from the back (through the app) if you want the camera hidden. Or keep it on - I have the one in the conservatory in to deter intruders. The cameras work in different networks (I have two WiFi networks) and link to the same account in the app for easy browsing. I believe these are a fantastic addition to any home security setup. I currently have a monitored alarm, and now if that goes off I can view my entire house from anywhere in the world and call the police if needed. For ยฃ25 a camera that peace of mind cannot be matched. Great product, great price and great customer service when I have needed to ask questions.

Great Value - High Quality - low price
I'm always trying to wait a bit till I leave the review of the product so after months of having one I decided to purchase another 2 on black Friday as they've been on even better offer. Right for ยฃ25 you would not expect much right? but honestly for that price this camera blows a mind. I have it placed in 3 different location around my apartment, which one location it's slightly poor in wifi signal but camera still works well. Night vision is alright, got good distance of view and quality ain't that bad. streaming to your phone? works fine, although if you put down app and then come back it shows that can't connect to camera but it's enough to go back to main interface and go back to camera and it works fine, haven't even got much latency but that's may vary of your internet quality. 12 sec clips when motion/sound detected, it's not bad and can be extended to 60sec when paid subscription which is around ยฃ3/month which isn't bad either, I've got them mostly to watch my cat while we're away for few days. and for that reason they are great. why only 4 stars for motion detection? in daylight it works great, but on night vision not necessary, you can see cat moving in a background but it won't detect it until it will get close enough or his eyes will reflect ir light back to cam. But I'm happy with them, so ended up with 3 after few weeks of checking just one... and can recommend it to anyone who does not expect it to recognise the faces, but give you simply insight/view into what's happening at the moment in your household etc. And reviews about address requesting issue? well when I sign up, I didn't wanted to arm it automatically so I had choice to do not provide my location info, so clearly you've got choice on this one, and even so I wouldn't be so worry, if someone would like to grab you address in most countries it's public information anyway and your phone tracking you 24/7 anyway... and from what I have found Neos is some sort of home insurance company, that you can use their services so I guess those cam are mainly the addon to service, and to make them cheaper they just selling them also separately. Have fun and enjoy ;)

Mindblowing Quality for that low price...
...it literally is. Honestly when I ordered the camera to review it, I did not expect much, considering the price under 30 which is for home cameras already low, let alone for cameras with features such as motion detection and night vision. In addition you get a companion app which is in it self brilliant, you can watch any notifications, videos recorded and live feeds for it, have a ton of settings for adjustments and the best of all GEO FENCING! This feature alone would make the camera way more worth then it actually costs and much expensiver systems I have or have tested such as Blink or Arlo do not have this feature at all. Some might find it intrusive that the app asks you for your address, but given it features Geo fencing as one if its main features, this can only work with your location obviously and compared to many other apps which just track your location, this app asks you for the address to allow you to set the geo fencing area correctly. If you do not want that , you can basically enter what ever you like there, but for me it is one of the most important features to have it automatically armed and disarmed when I come and go. In terms of picture Quality, it is very good during the day , although not up to 1080p as advertised, while the resolution is 1080p, it is a bit pixelated, specially with higher motion, but more then good enough to identify objects and persons without any problem. Same is true for the Night vision, its quite grainy but good enough to identify all objects, persons , etc. and given that low price I would have expected worse. Motion Detection works very well and fast even in night vision but flawless during the day. My most loved feature about this camera is definitely the Geo fencing so I have it set to turn active when I leave the house and when my phone comes close to the house it disables the alarm notifications, a feature I wished our Blink System has which we use for outdoors. Yes the camera is plastic, but from a high quality one and it can be adjusted in nearly every angle and also the setup process which is guided by the app was a breeze, everyone can do it. I just wait if they ever make outdoor versions of it, I am one of the first one buying it, alone for the fact that it does not need a Hub and also records on SD card. One of my best purchases lately :) Very pleased! Fazit: Don`t expect of course a camera with a picture quality of expensive security cameras, but I have seen and tested many counterparts and none of them came close in terms of features and quality and ease of use and for home use and even in small offices I think this is a great purchase.

Alot for ยฃ25, but sorely lacking compared to the Wyze Cam v2
Chances are you've ended up reading this because you've found the Wyze Cam v2 on Youtube and tracked it here. Both it and the Neos SmartCam are the same rebranded Mii hardware but the software is the significant differentiator - and the Wyse Cam isn't officially available in the UK. But it's not the WyzeCam. The Neos software is still in it's infancy compared to the Wyze cam, and it totally inferior in every regard. Considering both are built on the same hardware the key (and useful) missing features from the Neos are: Alexa/IFTTT integration Smoke/CO alarm detection (via sound) Configurable motion detection zones There are other features missing like time lapse, but it's shows the difference and value of good quality, well thought out software - especially as both are using the same hardware. But is it all bad? No. The camera is cute, but doesn't particularly blend in. The picture and video quality are excellent given the price. The included USB cable should be fine for most and the mount options are spot on - don't bother with the mount kit; simply order a cheaper extension cable here and drill a hole in the included mount plate if you want to screw it to anything. Setup wise it's been a mixed bag, i bought two cameras and the app advised that both needed firmware updates upon setup. It downloaded and installed both but then proceeded to hang until i unplugged and reconnected the cameras (risky!). It worked, and the cameras were working. The capture of address and contact details is poorly explained, and OTT if you ask me. No idea about the phone number, but your address details are required for the Auto arming; essentially using the GPS in your phone to tell the app if you've left the location you've setup the cameras and then arm the cameras. Thats ok, but there are far better options; first use Wifi to identify that as GPS is a battery hog and needs to be Always on, or allow a schedule to be set (Foscam added this earlier this year). As neither are available i have to manually arm the app as location services on my phone kills the battery. Also not everyone likes handing out address details! Arming the cameras manually takes about 20 seconds, far too long. One of my cameras has stopped detecting motion or sound for no reason, despite changing settings to maximum sensitivity, this camera also stopped working totally before i reset it. Support case raised and will update the review Generally the app is a good start, but it's far too simple and filled with a couple of gimmick features like live chat. Chances are if you're setting one up and having issues you'll be doing so out of hours when the chat/support line is closed. SD card recording is a great option, but the included cloud storage is a real USP if you're unlucky enough to need the footage it'll be available here; at least for 14 days and then you can download it to your device. Plus it's free! Don't get me wrong for ยฃ25 you're getting better hardware than you would with the cheapest Foscam, and the equivalent hardware from Foscam is ยฃ90 - so this is a bargain; but if you want a good, reliable security camera look elsewhere for the moment. The Neos SmartCam needs a lot of software development before i'd trust or recommend it. Key feature requests for the devs are: Alarm activation schedule (variable by the days of the week) Auto arming via non-location service methods Configurable recording length Configurable recording reset time IFTTT integration Smoke/CO alarm detection Configurable motion/detection zones Update 16/04 - Neos delivered Amazon Alexa integration recently which is a plus, but after a months + usage i've hardened my opinion that all these cameras are good for are watching a baby/child or a pet rather than as a home security system. The features and reliability of the cameras are just too poor to be a home security solution, and the app is still plagued with bugs (like logging you out and resetting all of your alert settings when you log back in even when arming the cameras!!) You get what you pay for and i'd pay extra for the peace of mind Ring, Nest, Reolink etc... provide.

Pretty good little camera for the cost.
I bought this so I could monitor/keep an eye on my parrot whilst I am away from the house. App downloaded and the camera was very easy to set up. The parrot is in the kitchen so the magnetic base allowed me to rest the camera on the microwave without concerns of it being knocked off. The day and night quality is very, very good and I can zoom in and out easily using the screen on my mobile. Am able to get a good viewing span too as his cage is pretty big and I also wanted to use the camera for security on the back door. Everything fits in nicely. Was so pleased with it, I have also bought one of these for my daughter to use in her room at university. There's a useful setting that allows you to set a perimeter around the place/property the camera is being used at so once you're outside of this it will automatically set the motion detector alert for you (saves it constantly going off whilst you're in the room). I cant get this to work (hence the 4 stars), but my daughters works ok so I'm guessing its something I could be doing wrong. Great little camera for the money though and will be buying another for the other end of the kitchen. :)
