my pvc pipe is 4 1/2" OD will 4" cap fit?

Question is a year old but this answer may help other people. PVC pipe is sized by ID, not OD, since his pipe is 4 1/2 OD then it is likely 4" (ID) pipe, so yes, a 4" cap will fit.

I have a pipe which has an outer diameter of 2 3/4 inches, would any of these caps fit that?

These fit schedule 40 2 1/2" PVC which is closer to 2 7/8" O.D.

Does it have printing on the top or is it smooth?

... the pipe cap is on my roof, the pic I took shows a small raised 'button' other than that smooth ( I'm sure it can be shaved down flat ) ...
