IPW Water Filter/Air Filter Refill, Carbon Charcoal, 5 lbs

In response to the review that says the dust makes it unusable, I show my setup as in the image I only had to wash the dust once the first time and from there re-used the same media to fill 2x 5 gallon containers now for the 4th time in almost 2 months. Drilled 2 tiny holes in the cut off oj container lid (used a metal lid from another container). Takes about 2 hours to fill the 5 gallon jugs. I don't sit there watching it. I sync the fill up flow with the drip rate and walk away. To fill up the jugs, I am using my old filter faucet that came with a 3 stage housing so.. well at least i found a use for it after all. So no more $20 filters that promise 20,000 gallons but only last about a month. This will last maybe 6 months maybe longer and the water it filters tastes great. Better than any of the filters I have tried and I did try many differnt brands paying more hoping for better results that never delivered. My cats love drinking this water which is how I can tell when it's time to change filters, when the cats stop drinking. So far they are lapping it up no change required yet, and its been almost 2 months. My setup ain't pretty, and the slightest nudge will tip over and have soggy charcoal all over the counter. But that only hapened once and i figured out its better to remove the carbon and set it down somewhere before moving the jugs. So anyway you can rig it up which ever way works for you. You can make the flow faster and add a mesh to catch the carbon and that way you can fill up a container fast. You only have to wash the carbon once... not every time you need a drink of water LOL.. come on now. And yes, it takes a while to get all the dust out. Maybe 10 - 15 minutes.. NOT 2 hours. Just rinse and pour out repeat in a pot until the water runs clear. and you are good to go for 6 months at least maybe longer. I am VERY happy with the results. The nice thing about this system is that once the containers are filled, the carbon dries out and sits away in the corner until ready for reuse. In the filter housing, the filters just sit there in stagnant water getting slimy residue on the plastic washers.. yuck.. Buy this and set up your own system. You will be happy you did

Great activated charcoal, very uniform size, no odor or taste.

At first I was a little concerned cause I could not find were it’s source from county wise but they looked legit and there website is easy to find. I made the order for my water distiller and it does not disappoint! Not a drastic amount of dust and the size is appropriate for my use. They have a good competitive price am sure I got more than a year worth of active carbon! I didn’t measured the weight but it felt legit. Came sealed and properly packaged. I would recommend it to any of my friends and family! Here you can see on the picture how they look but I stored them on jars vacuumed sealed with Moisture absorption packs to extend the life of the product while in storage but that’s just me - the bag that comes in is more than enough. Any color besides black inside the jar is just reflections of the background.

I have never purchased from this company before, but I am happy with my purchase. My package came promptly via the USPS. The charcoal came as advertised. It has a very nice consistency; it reminds me of Folgers’s coffee crystals except a bit smaller in size but slightly larger than sand grains. The granules were very clean, no powder or dust from what I could tell. The charcoal comes in a clear plastic bag that had an overhand knot tied in it. Luckily the bag is thick plastic; probably 3mil thickness or so. You will need an airtight container to put this charcoal in to store it. I would not want to trust the bag for long-term storage to provide protection from air and liquids. The amount of charcoal that comes will probably fill up a gallon jug (at least). I chose to vacuum seal mine using my Food Saver machine. I would recommend this product and will buy again.

First the good news: relatively low dust and suitable for lab work if you're going to do any re-filter . For some things a double pass through a 200mm column is enough to retain the dust. Well packaged in a thick poly bag. Seems highly active. i's wood-derived material, not the petro-carbon. Well priced in small quantities. Not so good news: lot of entrained water. More than I was expecting; you are not going to use this on your anhydrous solvents without a lot of re-drying. For food/beverage work would be great.

I use this in my cat litterboxes. I use about one cup every two weeks mixing it in with the litter and it hands down eliminates any smells. I use a high. quality litter to start with, but if you have cats and don't want your house to smell like a cat bathroom, give this product a try. I buy it about every three months or so.

My water tastes the same as when I use the fancy filters. I like the simplicity of the ingredients. The bag will last me many filter refills.

Not useable the particles are too small like sand and it clings worst than sand when washing/rinsing before use. The bag also doesn’t have country of origin so it is questionable.

It is very we use charcoal to take out iron in the water!
