Review: Great iron for the price. - Had to solder some really small circuits and this did the job very well. The โstandโ is kinda cheap but I didnโt buy it for the stand. No complaints. Review: I don't think soldering irons are supposed to glow... - Out of the box, it worked great. But after a while of it being plugged in, I noticed the solder and flux started oxidizing and new solder wouldn't stick to the iron. So I unplugged it and kept doing what I was doing and when I picked it up next, the oxidation fell off. I realized that the iron gets too hot, and so now I periodically unplug it and replug it back in at regular intervals, which actually works quite well. But if left plugged in too long, the tip glows red, and I measured it at over 330ยฐC or 625ยฐF, which is overkill because leaded solder melts at around half that. So all in all, buy a more expensive iron, or if you must go cheap, a lower wattage one.

this one does not work
I plugged it in and waited 10 min. it was getting hot but not enough to melt even the smallest solder. My Harbor Freight one was soldering away after 3 min. - Maybe this product was defective? The light blinks and that's all.
