I would recommend using a coating of aquaium silcine on the filter around the plastic neck at the top as that is the area prone to wear over time and holed develop if you take the filter on and off a lot. The silicone will help you get better milage.

Great filter

Great filtration

Really Cleans the Water
If you need this filter then you need THIS filter. The old school setup with the glass mason jar is a little unnerving but man does the Diatom filter clean tank water. amazing clarity. 10 thumbs up !

Restores efficiency to the filter. Really you can't replace this filter with any other product. It's one of a kind, and they last for a very long time.

Diatom filter replacement bag for D-1
Bag was not 100% sealed. Tried using super glue to close about a one inch opening in the bag. See how long it will hold together?

Great product purchased as a back up so I dont have to clean immediately I remove install clean and set to dry and have ready for next use.

Do yourself a favor and buy the Magnum water polishing filter it is just a good if not better
Do not buy this product as well as the D-1 Filter. It should not be sold as it is not ready for production. It worked for me just once and then the Motor went dead! I really did want this to work as I had one years ago! Do yourself a favor and buy the Magnum water polishing filter it is just a good if not better.
