Badia Whole Annatto 22oz bottle is a MUST have spice. The quality is excellent, fresh, and aromatic right out of the container. Better than all the brands I know
This huge container lasted me for almost a year. I make a lot of Chamoru red rice, and we use Achiote. I could get the powder, but the culture won't let me. Lol. Definitely has a great taste. I can tell the difference. I usually lightly boil this in the amount of water I need. Rice always turns out great.

If you make a lot of achiote paste…
This is a good deal. Some achiote paste also has been found to have lead in it, so I make my own. I like the big container, and it’s nice to not have to wonder if you have enough for your next cook. I’ve made pollo asado with achiote paste I made from this many times now. Delicious.
