Everything You Need to Know to Start Working Candle Magic Today The use of fire is universal in religious and spiritual practices throughout the world. However, it could be said that Wicca and Pagan traditions are where fire really takes center stage, whether it’s a ritual bonfire, tall candles honoring the Goddess and God, or small tea lights marking the boundaries of the sacred circle. One of the most delightful ways to work with the transformative Element of Fire is through candle magic. Simple, elegant, and highly symbolic, candles make it easy to work with this power in the form of a single, mesmerizing flame. Candle magic is a way of harnessing the unseen energy of the Universe into particular thoughtforms that work to effect a change in the physical world—whether that change is tangible, like more money in your pocket, or intangible, like a more positive outlook on a situation that once seemed hopeless. Candle magic is not only powerful, but is also regarded as the easiest and most simple form of magic for beginners to learn. This makes it an ideal starting point for anyone looking to start practicing Witchcraft. But while this guide is written from the perspective of Wiccans and other Witches, you need not identify with these paths to benefit from the practice of candle magic. No matter your spiritual leanings, you will find valuable, empowering information within these pages. Unlike many other books on this fascinating topic, Lisa Chamberlain’s Candle Magic goes beyond simply providing spells and a brief list of color correspondences. While these are certainly essential components of a book on candle magic, there’s a much bigger picture to understand. Using core concepts found in the ancient wisdom of the Hermetic Principles, as well as long-held traditions of color associations relating to specific goals, Lisa takes readers through a step-by-step explanation of how fire and color work together to manifest the changes you seek. Rather than wondering whether magic works, you will actually know how it works, which tremendously strengthens your odds of success! Foundations of Candle Magic Although candle magic can be delightfully simple, there’s still more to it than just lighting a votive and saying a few words out loud. Like any other art, there are technical (not to mention safety) considerations, as well as other “tricks of the trade.” In this guide, you’ll find: Core concepts underlying the “why” and “how” of candle magic Practical tips for selecting candles based on your magical aims Instructions for clearing, charging, anointing and inscribing your candles Candle spells for love, prosperity, healing and more Instructions for making your own herb-infused anointing oils Tips for timing your spellwork in accordance with Moon phases and the days of the week Suggested sources for further reading for those who want to explore candle magic further Tables of correspondence with colors, herbs and oils, and days of the week for easy reference With the help of this guide, along with some patient practice, you will soon be discovering your ability to shape the circumstances of your life through the power of candle magic. Once you get the hang of it, you’ll realize that the possibilities are truly endless! If you're ready to learn about the magic of candles, scroll to the top of the page and select the buy now button. Readers will also be treated to an exclusive free eBook! Review: Wicca candlework - This book helps you learn the basics of candle magic. It provides a short history of fire uses throughout culture and ceremonies. It helps to teach you to "harness the unseen energy of the universe" with your candle work. It details the importance of the color of the candle and provides a easy to use chart. It also helps you to choose your candle from all the different types that are available today. In addition, it provides you with the tools needed to consecrate, clear/cleanse, charge and anoint your candles for spell work. Last, it provides you with a few common candle magic spells. Overall, a great book for beginning candle work. Review: There's an explanation of how to prepare candles for spellwork that's very easy to follow and effective in practice - This book is very well done. There are no surprises, which tells me the author did her research and verified what works and what doesn't. There's an explanation of how to prepare candles for spellwork that's very easy to follow and effective in practice. My only complaint is that the author has trouble with complex sentences, which makes parts of her explanations more challenging to follow. I'd prefer it if she stuck with simple declarative sentences. Your mileage may vary. She includes correspondence tables that are accurate, which is important for those new to witchcraft. The bibliography is first rate, which tells me the author knows her subject well. She includes some basic spells that've been proven to work, for her and for others. I'm not crazy about love spells; the ones she included are designed to affect the caster rather than infringe upon the free will of another person. Of particular interest to me is that the author stresses individuality. It's completely acceptable to modify the spells, the process or the rituals to suit oneself. The author stresses that a practitioner should do what resonates most strongly with them, and should chart their own path, using her information (and information gained from other sources) as a guide. As an eclectic solitary pagan witch, I like that a lot.

Another Winner From Ms. Chamberlain!
I am a huge fan of all of Ms. Chamberlain's books. Though this book is short but it covers a lot of information. The author does a fabulous job of being direct, clear, and on point with her information and writing. The Craft is something that you can never learn in one book. Even though her books are centered around Wicca, the information is useful and insightful to all areas of The Craft and Witches. The book description is exactly what the book is. I myself have a library of several different topics. I started with this author and purchase every book as they come out. I suggest taking notes on things that peak your interest so that you can do further research. I always use her books as a jumping off point to introduce myself to new areas and help guide me to my next area of study. If my review helped you, please click the helpful button. I recommend!
This is a great book, she gives just enough detail that it’s not overwhelming. •She explains candle types and which are best for certain spells. •She covers how you can use candles to send your message/spells/ request to the spirit world. •Gives tips on cleansing your items *Gives tips on how to dress your candles * recipe on making your own oil. *has a chart on days of week, moon, color, herbs and their correspondence. • gives spells and covers when it’s best to do them ( day, moon phase, herbs and which color candle ) I have yet to try any of these spells but they seem simple. Imo this book would benefit everyone. It’s good to learn new things or take inspiration from others. I highly recommend this book, especially for those who are starting.

An excellent reference and instructional book for beginners
An excellent reference and instructional book for beginners. The author covers basic magickal theory and ethics as well as encouraging the reader to listen to his/her own inner voice. A favorite section for me was "Our Connection with Fire." In this chapter Ms. Chamberlain uses myth and history to explain the origins of humanities fascination with fire and then goes on to connect fire, and candles, to various religions especially Wicca. She then goes on to discuss the fundamental uses for candles in Wiccan ritual, spellwork, and everyday life. Her chapter on fire magick and the theory behind it is thorough but not tedious or overly complicated. Finally, the spells included are simple and economical--perfect for the beginner, or a more advanced practitioner how happens to be short on time. My only real complaint is for the Kindle edition. The correspondence tables are so small they are unreadable. If you're going to buy this book and want those tables, I recommend buying the paperback version.

Concise and easy to understand
If you are looking for a book to walk you through using candles for a connection to the spirit realm this is a perfect place to being your journey. This book could also serve as a good reminder of the power of candles for those who have long incorporated candles as part of their worship and magic. It is well thought thru and the ease of reading the book enhances the experience of getting to the meat of the facts. It offers suggestions and solutions without stating there is only one way to find the path to your desired end results. It is a great primer to have on the shelf and will serve as an excellent simple primary quick guide.

Be the light
Out of all the beginner books I've read I look forward to this one the most. It's always good to learn the proper way to work with new tools, it adds a new dimension to your ceremony. I really enjoyed this book. The length is just about right and the author is a seasoned practitioner. The best part of course, and why most of us would read it is the sample spells to get us started. The spells are exactly what you would expect. Some for love, some for money, some for employment.and some for health. I liked that the author had both quick spells(one night) and longer ones. The tables in the back are very helpful and there is even a section on further reading. Buy this book

To me it was insightful (the author explains why candles are perfect for spell work etc)
I devoured this book in one sitting - guess the pupil was ready for the teacher?! To me it was insightful (the author explains why candles are perfect for spell work etc), the spells are as advertised (simple and easy, with few ingredients, which I feel makes for the most powerful magic) and the spells are a good, practical variety. The tables of correspondences were by no means exhaustive, but for a beginner it was just perfect. I would advise aspiring witches to first read Lisa Chamberlain's Wicca for Beginners: A Guide to Wiccan Beliefs, Rituals, Magic and Witchcraft, and then follow it up with this one to get busy making magic! I already performed my first spell from this book and it felt great. Thank you!

Disappointed
While the contents are simple to understand and practice her promise of a free ebook comes with string attached. One should not be lured to join a community with the promise of a free ebook. That just got me disappointed. I expected a Wiccan's code should be more than that. Perhaps she's not a true Wiccan
