As someone who is deeply passionate about lighting and considers it critical for comfort and mood, I am very particular about my hardware. This plug-in dimmer switch is top-notch. It is solidly built and straightforward to use, with a nice tactile switch that sits securely on a nightstand or the floor without sliding around. I ordered the black version so it would remain low-key and discreet on my black nightstand, and the overall quality and durability impressed me so much that I ordered two more the very next day. Initially, I bought one to dim the C9 LED crystal bulbs on two strings of patio/decor lights that were running a bit too bright. While I probably got lucky with that specific combination, it handles the LEDs wonderfully with zero issues. It also works brilliantly on my bedside lamps, allowing me to dial in a much more cozy and relaxed environment than the standard bulbs provided on lamps that lacked built-in dimmers. Highly recommended for anyone looking to take precise control of their space's ambiance.

Works great and great price

This is a great idea for LED bulbs of 100w equivalent, but when I put in a 150w LED (20w) at 100% it bave me the equivalent of 80w - more than 60 and less than 100. I am disappoointed. It works well for lower wattage LEDs and it is easy to install.

Works very well with Phillips filament bulbs. No issues with flickering. Such a good steal and makes a huge difference in making your lighting more ambient!

I’m writing this because I think it may save some ppl the hassle of having to return this. I came VERY close to returning it and buying a more expensive one because within a couple of weeks the light started flickering and the brightness went from either 10% to 100%, with no variation in between. I’d read some reviews about that, but figured I’d it try it anyway. Before returning it, it was suggested I try PHILLIPS ULTRA DEFINITION DIMMABLE LED bulbs. I bought them and the dimmer works PERFECTLY now!! The Phillips bulbs specifically address flickering and are much more compatible with dimmers than other dimmable LED bulbs, not to mention, they’re inexpensive and produce much nicer light than other bulbs.

They do work really well but I ordered a 2 pack, and one of them just didn’t work. The lamp wouldn’t turn on and I even tested it with plugging the lamp in by itself and the lamp worked fine, so it was the dimmer that didn’t work.

No surprises with this product, it works just like you would expect. Plug your lamp into the extension cord, plug the extension cord into the wall socket. You're done. I'm using it with an incandescent bulb, and the dimming function is very smooth. I assume that it would work just as well with an LED. I'm no expert, but it feels like it is good quality. Little felt pads on the bottom of the controller help keep it in place without additional adhesion.
