Broken (Breaking the Rules Series Book 1)

I bought this series because I just finished reading Give me Yesterday by Elle Christensen and K. Webster so I looked to see what other stories that each of them had on their website that I would think I would enjoy. Broken seems like a story that anyone could really get into because it would give you angst, drama and even the excitement to see what the characters would be like and I wasn't disappointed. I read some of the reviews that thought their was just too much sex or that was all that was in the story. I felt like their is a reason for K. Webster to use sex like she did. Now the story is about Miranda Dalton aka Andi and Jackson Compton aka Jackie. Andi had just finished at Columbia University and was going to graduate soon, but she was working at a deli until she can find a real job when she received her degree. What Andi was most excited about was becoming Mrs. Brayden Greene. Her fiance and her met in Freshman comp and he had recently proposed to her in the park. Their was not too much business going on at their deli because their was a Taylor Swift concert going on. So her boss Jeannie lets her go because she was daydreaming about her fiance'. So she decided to go home and get dressed and go to surprise Brayden in his room where he was suppose to be studying for finals, you got it when she got there he was not studying he was humping some other girl named Stephanie with fake boobs. She was of course crushed and her roommate did not think she was going to be able to make it to take her finals because she had gone into a depression. The worst part after all that she went through with her roommate Pepper helping her get through to graduate, Pepper was a A student and a trust fund kid. Her father had set up a trust fund for her. He was a big time lawyer. So she was able to help her roommate through her depression, but you know that he couldn't go without drama, just when she thought she was getting over Brayden even though he wanted her back, she runs into Brayden's mother Trish and was talking to her when Brayden shows up gives her a hug and even a kiss and just when she thinks they can make it the other woman Stephanie shows up and she knows it will never work with them. So did I say that eventually in the time after graduation and Andi getting a job she has to see a psychiatrist because she was falling apart no bathing no leaving the house, no eating and just sleeping and drinking. Pepper finally gets her to see a psychiatrist because she knew that Andi was falling into a very bad depression. Now we get to Jackson and how they meet. Jackson is wealthy at least we are lead to believe so and he has a brother named Jordan. He has been messed up by an ex wife but we don't find about that until later in the book. Jackson happens to be in the same bar Andi and Jackson were going to play her game. We find out in the dark past that the author reveals in between having her in the present that she had started having this game she played in order to get back into the dating game and to help her self get over Brayden. She would go to the bar and pick up a man the rules of the game were that she would go home with him they would have sex and only for Friday, Saturday and Sunday and after that they would not see each other anymore. You got it they happen to go the Jackson's friend, Ian's bar and they are given drinks and then he hears what she is saying about the game and approaches her from the back and says he wants to play the game. She gets up to go to the bathroom and when she walks out he grabs her and takes her to his friends office and has sex with her in their on the desk. Then he sends her back to her seat and says he will come get her later. This is how they meet and thus begins one of the most craziest up and down oh so dramatic relationships that will make you want to cheer them on and sometimes I didn't like Jackson very much because I knew Andi was having mental problems after having being betrayed by Brayden and did I tell you she almost died. I was upset with her because she took too much from him, but we eventually find out why he is acting so sweet and ugly within minutes apart, sometimes. I can't wait to read the end of Andi and Jackson's story. I bought the whole series even before I finished this story so I do know that Pepper and Olive have a story all their own. I won't tell you about either one other than you know Andi and Pepper are roommates and Olive became their roommate after Andi meeting her one day and hearing her story. It was okay because Pepper lived in this lovely home she had bought because she was the typical trust fund child. I purchased all the books in the series after being not even half way through the story that tells you how much I liked this story. It is a good read.

As a first time reader of K Webster I can honestly say I enjoyed the story of Jackson and Andi. I did find minor errors but it didn't detract from the story. When Andi plans a surprise visit to her fiance that backfires badly she spirals into a deep dark depression. Clawing her way back to sanity she plans weekend sex games that make her feel like she is in charge of her life but really it just covers up the deep hurt and issues she suffers from. When Andi finally seems to be getting her head above water she plans one last weekend game. Three days only. Jackson is a rugged dark handsome guy who really knows how to give a girl a good time and great sex, but he suffers from issues of his own, so when he decides to play Andi's three day sex game, with no strings attached he jumps in with both feet. But what happens when they are thrown back together at Andi's new place of employment? Toss in the reason for Andi choosing her promiscuous way of dealing with her personal issues and Jackson's hot and cold behavior and Andi comes close to breaking point again. Can Jackson get past his guilt and trust issues. Can Andi forgive her ex and move forward? I enjoyed these twos escapades although I would've liked a bit more story and a little less sex. (Yes I did say that). I also enjoyed the intertwining stories of Andi' s besties Pepper and Olive, along with Jackson's brother Jordan. Looking forward to reading Wrong.

It’s a Dual POV Fairly high 🔥🔥🔥 Some sensitive situations like accidental OD and suicide So Andi gets completely heart broken over her fiancé ( you guess it right away) cheating on her. It’s a tailspin into depression and it’s written going back and forth from present time back to her depression times. Honestly it got to the point where her dark times were a bit dramatic after awhile. Heart break and depression are really hard and serious but there were somethings that were in there that made me eye roll a touch. So she doesn’t want to get attached and decides weekend flings are it for her. That’s until Jackson comes along. He too had come out of a bad relationship (yes, cheating) and they just seem to mesh well together. Two broken souls coming together to heal. Ok, so the thing that turned me off was a little past 50-60% it got…. Weird. Like the conversations, actions, and such became cheesy at times and annoying and not really realistic in response to things. Idk, it seemed to no longer match the feel of the first half. However, I still finished it and will say it was good. Just not the best story that K Webster is always putting out.

What an amazing book!! I love a book that hits the ground running!! This one had me captivated from the beginning!! Andi is newly engaged to her fiancee Bray. She decides to surprise him one day by showing up early at his place. Unfortunately, for her, the surprise was on her. He was having sex with someone else! She goes into therapy and finds a way to help her "cope" with Bray's infidelity, by playing a game of having sex with random guys just for the weekend. After that, she's done with them. The rules are simple and the guys must agree to the rules or she's not interested. That is, until she meets Jackson! There's so many twist and turns in this book and that poor girl has the worst luck at her new job! You have to read this one, it's worth it!!!

The hurt and passion poor through the pages of this wonderful book. It's a story that is both dark and painful but also bright and loving. I was unable to put it down once I picked it up! While in college Andi met the man who would become her future husband. They dated for a few years before he popped the question while on a stroll through Central Park, and of course she said yes. This made it difficult for her to focus on class because she was distracted by wedding plans. She was so happy, and one night she got out of work early with plans to surprise her fiance and put a huge smile on his face as well. When she arrived at his dorm he had a surprise of his own. A big breasted bimbo was boinking him in his bed. Andi was so broken, so devastated she thought she'd never get over it. In fact she nearly lost her life from the pain, after falling into a deep depression for nearly two weeks and eating next to nothing the entire time she was withering away. Her best friend and dorm mate, Pepper, finally convinced her to seek help. The doctor gave her a prescription to try and help her get back to her normal self. They seemed to help, though one night she messed up and finished the bottle and washed it down with vodka; landing her in the hospital. If it weren't for a last minute frantic phone call she would have died. This was a wake up call for her and Pepper, as well as her doctor. They all realized things had to change, and that Andi did. She began "dating" or so she called it. Rather it was hooking up with different men every weekend, telling them they had three days of fun- Friday, Saturday, and Sunday- and then they'd go on their own ways. This was all well and good until she met Jackson. The sound of Jackson's voice alone made her panties melt and his touch sent tingles all the way to her core. Jackson though was a broken man, having recently gone through majorally traumatic situations himself. This made his personality both extremely hot and cold. Andi yearned for the hot Jackson but the cold Jackson caused her heart to break all over again. The two of them had to find a way to help each other through their issues or they would be the knives to wound the others broken heart forever. If they could find it in themselves to accept one another their passion could lead to amazing places. However, if they didn't open up and let the other in they would leave each other in so many pieces their hearts may always remain broken.

This is a really great book about a woman who has been cheated on by her fiancée that she was with for four years. Andi is a great lady who didn't deserve to be cheated on. She starts a game of sex only for the weekend. No one is allowed to see her after Sunday. She meets a man in a bar, Jackson, and she starts the game. But it's not her usual game. Jackson stands her up on Saturday and when she goes to the bar, she runs into him. He is not afraid of her game because he knows he can get her to break her rules. Andi starts a new job on Monday and finds out that one of her new bosses is Jackson. He's cold and allusive. She doesn't understand him, but she wants to. So, the new game begins.

This book is well written, smooth flowing and easy to read. The characters, their emotions, and the experiences they go through are well depicted. I fell in love with the characters right away. Andi is in her senior year of college. She is close to getting her degree in Architecture. When she gets off work early one night she decides to surprise her fiance. When she walks in to find another woman on top of him, she is devastated. Her world is completely turned upside down. After graduation she moves in with her college roommate and bff Pepper. When she starts "dating" again she goes out every weekend and finds a guy to have fun with from Friday night through Sunday. Five months after graduating she finally lands a job at an architectural firm. She decides to have one last hoorah. Only this time, the rules are broken. I fell in love with Andi. After bring completely broken she is trying to put the pieces back together the best that she can. She isn't afraid to tell you exactly what she things. She makes sure the guys know what the rules are before they get involved. Jackson is a contradiction. He is hot and cold, strong and vaulnerable. He knows what he wants, but doesn't think he deserves it and doesn't know how to act. While he messes things up he tries to find ways to fix it. Can two broken people put each other back together? Main characters: Jackson and Andi Supporting characters: Olive, Pepper, Jordan, and Brayden Olive, Pepper, and Andi were college roommates. Andi was engaged to Brayden until she caught him cheating on her. Pepper helped Andi move past the hurt. After two weeks of crying and blaming, Andi decided to play the field. Andi decided to date any guy she wanted. Andi's coping mechanism became sexual. Andi chose successful, hot men to have sex with every weekend. Andi became a sex fiend due to the circumstances of Brayden cheating on her. Hence how she met Jackson. Jackson was a willing player of her game. Andi worked at a cafe until she found a new job as an assistant at an architecture firm. It was unnecessary to include the journal entries every other chapter in regards to how Andi spent her two weeks being depressed. I get it Andi you are wallowing in self pity. These would have served better as captions prior to starting the relationship with Jackson, Andi was obsessed with financially stable business men claiming a successful man was more enticing and sexually satisfying. Andi was high off the knowledge that her looks and game playing skills were capabilities worthy of attracting men of Jackson's stature. Andi used her body to attract men while inside she was insecure needing reassurance about her looks. Having successful good looking business men was not enough of an ego boost she had to seek attention with compliments from these same men. Rolling my eyes at the antics that is Andi. Her weekend game is over and yet stomps away from Jacksons office pissed when he dismisses her at work. I understand being depressed and hurt finding out your fiancé cheated but making poor decisions only added to her problems. If Andi wanted to become a successful architecture partner than she needed to learn how to handle disappointment and rejection better. Andi's character thrived off the attention she conjured from her friends. Andi got to peruse men at the bar to take advantage of sexually but when a man blatantly stared at her legs she spouted off, "take a picture", to him. Then referred to him as a pervert for looking when she always dressed to gain attention from men. From my comments you can conclude I had issues with these characters and the storyline. It was quite predictable and not original.

A good story and hot and it doesn't drag on and on Nice to read both sides of the characters story's

Easy reading, hot romance that you just can't get enough of while reading. Destiny really worked its magic to bring those two together, and they are so good together. A book that is promised to get you over the edge so many times, totally worth my time

I couldn't put it down. I loved the chemistry and passion between Andi and Jackson. Hot hot hot!!!!!!! They are perfect for each other.

I loved the story line. But there was way to much sex in this story, Andi spent most of the story with no panties on, even went to work with out them, The other characters in this story were great.

Broken is a fast read that is funny, sexy, and a hot read
