very nice handheld anemometer
I have a need to be able to measure the flow of air and was looking for a low cost solution that I could get fast. When I saw the BTMETER BT-100 handheld anemometer I decided to give it a try. One review I read while deciding which product to buy concerned difficulty in removing the battery door. The battery door is actually very easy to remove if you know how. To remove this door you first need to remove the two screws with the provided screwdriver. You then need to pull the door EXACTLY straight out. The fit is tight so if you lift one side more than the other it will make it much harder to pull out. With the two screws out I was able to put a fingernail under each side on the part that holds the screws and pry up. If you do this or something similar it is very easy to remove. The instructions for this meter are very minimal so my next couple of comments relate to use of the instrument. The device measures temperature and the spec is +/- 3.6F. A lot of the reviews complain that the temperature measurement doesn't work. I put it in a room that is approximately 71F. The temperature on the meter was 69.9F which is within the tolerance. The important thing to understand is that it is very slow to change. It took around 30 minutes to get up to that temperature (I didn't measure it initially because I didn't know it was so slow). I am not sure why it is so slow but if this is important to you than FYI. There is a button on the meter so you can display temperature in F or C. The main reason I got the meter was to be able to measure the flow of air. The fan blades are very sensitive to air flow. Just picking up the meter causes the fans blades to turn. I don't know about the accuracy of measurement for air flow. For my usage it is more important to get a number then I want to know the amount of change when I change things and for this usage the meter works great for me. The only problem I had was I sometimes put the meter in a spot where I could not see the display. I finally figured out how to work around this problem. There is a button labeled MAX/MIN. Pushing this button toggles it between MAX, MIN and nothing. If it is in MAX mode it will continue to display the maximum value when you remove the meter from the air flow. I started to use the meter in MAX mode in the cases where I could not see the display. The main cause of this problem was the minimal instructions that the meter has. There is a timeout (to save on battery drain) where the meter turns off and it is approximately 15 minutes. When it turns back on again the units I selected for air speed and temperature were preserved. The MAX/MIN setting was not. This is a quick review that I will update after I have used it for a longer period of time if there is something else of interest to add. At this point in time I am very happy with this meter. I got it overnight free with Amazon Prime!

Accurate, easy to use, and perfect for outdoor activities!
I picked up this BTMETER anemometer to check wind conditions for some outdoor hobbies, and it has been a fantastic addition to my gear. It’s compact, reliable, and provides a lot of data for such a portable device. • Highly Accurate: I’ve compared the readings to local weather stations, and it’s consistently spot on. It picks up even the slightest breeze, which is great for precision. • Feature-Rich Display: The backlit LCD is very easy to read, even in direct sunlight or at dusk. I love that it shows wind speed, temperature, and wind chill all on one screen. • Versatile Measurements: Being able to switch between units (like mph, knots, or m/s) is super helpful depending on what I’m doing. • Solid Build: It feels durable enough to toss in a bag without worrying about it breaking. The fan spins freely and the response time is almost instant. Whether you're into sailing, flying drones, or just need to check HVAC airflow, this tool is excellent. It’s a great value for the price and much more professional than I expected!

Does the basics, probably accurate enough for what is is. Hard to get battery cover off.
It does provide an air flow speed and rotates smoothly, so no reason to assume it wont work. Easy to set the desired units. If the need is to use this to get airflow, to then combine with cross-sectional area of pipe/vent to compute air flow rates, its probably good enough being an alleged 5% accurate. For sizing such flows its perfect. Not really for precise weather data capture. Getting the battery compartment open is a bit tricky, which is really the only ding I have against it. Removing the 2 screws is easy enough, but even with them out, getting the battery lid off is non-trivial as you have to lever it out from the screw hole areas, as the battery box lid has a box section that slides down into the body of the battery box space on the unit.. so its a bit friction fit there. Keeps the bulk of water out, but makes it hard to get apart to replace or remove batteries. A much smaller lip with an embedded silicone gasket to set against (held down by the screws) would have been a better design with only a $2 increased cost.

Nice affordable unit
We use these to test the CFM on our kilns and air dry yards for a lumber company. They work very well. They’re not terribly priced. They seem to be quite accurate compared to some of our very expensive ones within a percent which for the price is pretty good. I’ve never had a battery failure in a few years that we’ve been running them overall they were very well and it’s easy to use.

How fast is the wind?
This is accurate within 1mph, which is acceptable. I’ve been using it for a while now. Its quality is pretty good. It doesn’t get treated with kid gloves, but can take bumps and dings without breaking. Otherwise this will let you know the wind is blowing and how fast.

Handy for drone users
I'm happy with this product. For the price, it is well built and works fine in all regards. I use it for checking the wind speed around me when flying my drone. My mini 5 pro has a wind speed "limit" of 27mph. What this anemometer does for me is, after using it for a while, it's helped me remember what a given wind speed feels like without looking at it. So I just take into account that wind speed at altitude will always be more and take it from there. The device works great and seems very accurate and very sensitive. Just a note. I would like to praise the seller for their customer service. Although it says final sale and no returns, mine arrived and would not power up. I sent them an email with a short video showing them that even with new batteries, it won't power up. They were extremely nice and immediately sent me a replacement without me having to return the old one. Now that's customer service! I also like that you can mount this on a tripod. I use it all the time.

Great handheld device.
We have a power catamaran and we took it out on the boat for grins this year when we went to the Bahamas. It really came in handy. We clocked much higher winds than predicted. We felt it was accurate considering the wave heights, etc..

Simple and accurate airflow meter
I’ve been using the BTMETER BT-100 anemometer mainly for checking airflow at vents and returns, and it’s been a useful little tool. It measures wind speed, temperature, and airflow (CFM), which makes it handy for basic HVAC diagnostics. The readings update quickly and seem consistent, and the backlit screen makes it easy to read in darker areas like attics or utility rooms. It’s lightweight and easy to carry around when moving between vents. It’s not a high-end professional meter, but for the price it does what you need. The only downside is the plastic build feels a bit basic, so I wouldn’t be too rough with it.

Come rapporto qualità/prezzo mi sembra ottimo.

Werkt goed, verlichting scherm slecht.
