I'm tall, in a rented house...
I live in a rented house, and am 6'1" and the shower head came out and hit me square between the shoulders on my upper back. This made it impossible to shower and wash anything neck or above. This isn't quite 12" as some of the other reviews say, it is about 9-ish". However, it still gets the job done. It came with teflon tape for the connections, and was relatively simple to put onto the shower. I did NOT notice any appreciable drop in water pressure as some of the other reviews have mention, but extending tube is smaller than typical house piping. Maybe my shower head just sucked in the first place. The hand tighteners are pretty easy to tighten down and hold pretty well. I live with roommates and we adjust the shower head often, so the higher part comes loose occasionally, but it's really easy to tighten back down. The only slight negative I can say is that the bottom part leaks a bit in my house because I don't want to tighten it down any further, to keep it pointing straight up. It's a small drop every few seconds - not that bad considering the amount you are actually using to shower. I'm sure this could be fixed with more of the supplied teflon tape, but I just haven't tested that theory yet as the drip is small enough not to bother me. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is renting a place and cannot physically change the plumbing of the house. Not having to squat in the shower to wash my hair, this thing is worth every penny I spent on it. The finish on it also seems to be of high quality, it looks much nicer than I expected and doesn't pull anything away from the look of the shower.

Good construction and value. Works well!
So, I bought this because someone wrote a review saying that the nut used to connect it to your shower arm coming out of the wall was one that could twist/spin, to allow for the extender arm to be positioned exactly as you wish. Well, that review was written in 2013, and the manufacturer has since welded the nut. I was worried, but there was no need to be. The welded nut went on perfectly, and positioned just right. I've not noticed the "this materials used are so thin" reviews that some others complain of. It installed without any bending or twisting. I mean, it has a nut that you use a wrench to tighten (using a cloth over, to prevent scratching). Are these people just twisting it on and using the arm itself to tighten? Of course it will bend and mangle using that method! Install it using proper methids, and you should be fine. Someone else linked a different (preferred, to them) arm in their review that has a larger diameter tubing ... insinuating that this tubing on this is too small for adequate water flow. Nonsense! There is plenty of water flow from this ... and we have just average water pressure. I DID take the diverter out of the shower head we bought to go with it, and it works brilliantly. P.S. the reviewer who posted the above-mentioned link to a larger diameter arm failed to mention that the larger arm was also twice the price of this one! Umm ... duh. Of course you get more when you pay more. The joints on this unit are strong, and the arm stays in place with the rainshower head attached. No weird engineering required, and the joints just tightened by the thumbscrews. I would buy this product again. A good value, and a good price.

Uninstalled it, even though it worked well.
It works well, although it didn't really help my situation... Was looking to use a raining shower head and thought adding an arm like this product could aim the shower head directly down, for a more comfortable shower and tried it like that, but it turns out it's much better to leave the shower head in the corner to make the stream useful. Which is a bummer considering I paid five dollars more for this shower extender than I paid for my amazing shower head. Decent product though, it installs just fine with the teflon tape, and worked well enough at holding up a good sized shower head. Don't wrentch it too hard though, I can imagine over tightening could easily wreck the pipe just by how it is built. Even though I don't need it in my current shower setup, I don't feel bad that I purchased it because I'll be able to use it for some shower setup at some point I'm sure.

Beautiful and Well-made
It's just beautiful! This is a very well-made and solid piece. The handheld showerhead I bought said not to use one of these but I did anyway and it works PERFECTLY. It was very easy to install and came with a tiny roll of teflon tape. The seals are secure at both ends, with no leaks. The adjustment levers are easy to turn but they hold securely when you are done positioning the extender. I thought ten inches might not be long enough, but it was more than adequate to bring the showerhead to a height that was comfortable for both me and my husband. I will always be putting these extenders on showers from now on. It's just so amazing to be able to control the height of the showerhead.

This is a legit Delta product and works well to extend/heighten your shower head. Easy to install and so far no leakage. Recommended.
