Love this slicer, but hard locating replacement parts. Amazon CS no help
**UPDATED REVIEW & UPDATED RATING TO 5 STARS! ** After writting my review and emailing the seller, I was contacted by email back by the seller, Borlebbi. First, they contacted me same day. I wasn't expecting to be contacted until the following Monday, since I sent an email on Friday. They were very prompt in all their responses back, along with being very professional, kind, caring and understanding. They were also very apologetic and took 100% responsibility and accountability for their products, even though I mentioned it could of also been user error. I was looking to see where I could purchase replacement parts. I was not looking or asking for a whole new product. They sent me a new slicer within a few days. The slicer did an amazing job before the gear part broke. I highly recommend this slicer since it does a great job. I 1000% recommend for their customer service. Amazing!! I would and will purchase from this company again and will recommend to all family and friends. By far the best customer service. You can tell they value their customers and stand by their products. Amazing! If i could give more stars, I would 100%! Thank you! I purchased this slicer on September 02, 2024. I have now used it 3 times since receiving. My 3rd time using it slicing cheese I was able to cut 2-3 slices then load noise. I looked to see what was going on. I noticed the the plastic gear had two broken teeth on it. I also nice a couple tiny black pieces. Found that the came off of blade gear shaft. I looked on Amazon for parts for gear but was unsuccessful to find gear part for slicer Model # SL-518M. I contacted Amazon, they were no help. They kept telling me it was past return date after me stating 3-4 times that I did not want to return slicer I was looking for parts to purchase. She then sent me a link to a different slicer. I did send an email to Borlebbi asking for assistance. Since it's Friday morning, I'm sure I won't hear back until Monday unless they work on the weekends. I will update if/when I hear back from them. Other than this, we have loved the slicer. Easy yo use and clean. It did it's job slicing block cheese and lunch meat. I would recommend this product.

I may just need more practice . . . (Not true!) (Update!)
UPDATE: Wow, this must be the best customer service I've ever experienced! They read my review and were concerned about the blade coming off, as they said it should not come loose or come off by pressing on it with whatever I'm slicing, as I said in my original review. They asked if I was sure that I was rotating the button on the blade before locking it, and son of a gun, I (stupidly!) neglected to do that! So you put the blade on, turn the button in the middle (counterclockwise, I believe) until it clicks into place and THEN you lock it. They offered me a refund if I WAS doing that because it's dangerous, of course, for the blade to be coming off. After I locked the blade in place correctly, I sliced a roast beef and a turkey breast with no incidents. It was a breeze and I'm changing my stars to five because it worked wonderfully, I really love the convenience and ease of use, AND their customer service is superb! I used it for the first time today and a few things could be better, but one of the issues was my fault. I bought a roast beef (it's how I convinced my husband that the purchase was worth it--"it will pay for itself!") and when it came time to slice it, I cut the roast in half to work with an easier piece, which is a good thing to do. The blade came off three times while I was slicing! But . . . I realized it was because I was pressing on the roast to make sure the blade was getting a good chunk of it, but the pressing of the roast was actually my pressing on the blade itself, which isn't necessary, so it kept coming off. After I stopped applying the needless pressure, it didn't happen. That habit probably goes back to the manual one I had for years and I had to really press hard while turning the blade. As for clean-up, I noticed that in the reviews, many people were claiming that clean-up was a breeze, while others were calling it a nightmare, and I have a suspicion of why there are opposing opinions . . . it obviously depends on what you're slicing! There was a LOT of juice with the roast beef and it was pretty messy. I removed all the removable pieces and hand washed them in warm soapy water. I used a disposable disinfectant cloth to clean up on the machine what couldn't get wet, but because it was a roast with a lot of juice, there was a good portion of that juice still in an area I couldn't reach: the crevice where the blade apparatus meets the machine itself. After I cleaned it, a few minutes later I saw red juice dripping from that crevice so I kept cleaning and cleaning it because all I could imagine was putting the machine away and how beef drippings would smell in a day if I didn't get every drop! So THAT is the part that wasn't easy. I turned it upside down and still more drops of juice were coming out. I imagine, however, that slicing bread is a breeze! I'm looking forward to that! I suppose I could give it four stars because it does seem well made and has a very strong suction and the slicing was very quick. I wish that little crevice didn't hide so much fluid. The cord could afford to be a little longer and the motor is louder than my floor cleaning machine but it doesn't really bother me because you slice what you need to slice and it's done. It's not like it's running for all that long. All in all, I'm glad I purchased it but I'm hoping I got every last drop of the roast beef drippings before I put it away in my cabinet!

Works well so far, lubricate the slide rail for easy operation
Recommend you lubricate the slide table metal shaft with a food grade oil to make this operate well. Just used my slicer for the first time. Blade is easy to install. The blade lock is attached to the blade so it's nice that it won't get misplaced. The gear wheel that drives the blade is also attached to the blade. The machine side blade insert is pre-lubricated with a silicone grease it appears. No mention in cleaning instructions if that needs to be reapplied after cleaning. The first slices I was able to get paper thin cuts on my beef which is why I purchased a slicer. I'm happy with the cut quality so far. The slide mechanism got difficult to push early on and I was getting frustrated. The slide table guide is a plastic bushing with no bearings over a metal rod. The plastic will bind on the metal with pushing pressure and this makes slicing difficult. I put a small amount of olive on the metal rod and the slide table worked as it should, no binding after it was lubricated. Slicing was easy after that one little trick. Clean up is easy as the slide table is easy to remove with a threaded knob for removal. So far I'm liking this slicer.

Good buy
I was on the fence for a long time. I like to buy products ONCE if possible - pain upfront, but a better experience throughout. I debated going with a $300+ model or even getting a used commercial unit. Not on a whim - I spent a summer saving up for college (many years ago) by slicing deli meat at the local grocer, so I know my way around a slicer. The value of this couldn't be denied, however, at about $95 on sale. Does this remind me of the commercial units I used to use? No, not at all. Those things cut through meat and cheese like it wasn't there. It could lop the tip off your finger so cleanly that you wouldn't even realize you were cut until you saw red (ask me how I know). But! Can this give similar results with patience and care? Absolutely. I had no issues 'chipping' meat by slicing it so thin the grain gives up. It does however feel the effort - this is up to 10 times slower to process 4lbs of beef than a commercial unit. However, I don't need to use this all day, all the time. So it's fast enough for home use. Main complaints: it's small, light, and moves readily if not braced by your second hand. There is no good place to hold with your second hand either - so you will be resetting this on your countertop regularly during a session as it walks away from you. The only other complaint I have is that it is unwieldy to process more than about a pound at a time. The platform is just too small. So you will have to batch your cuts. On the upside: easier to clean than expected. Sharp enough blades. Secure and safe to use, low hazard potential with care. One tip: when new, soap and water is not enough to remove the protective oil from the blade. I suggest mounting the blade after washing, turning the machine on, and polishing the entire blade surface, front and back, with food oil on a paper towel held against the rotating surface (use vegetable, peanut, olive, whatever you have on hand). Then remove and wash again. The amount of black material (presumably iron from the production and sharpening of the blade) that comes off on the paper towel makes me grateful I didn't go straight to cutting. Soap will NOT remove this on its own. Overall I'm happy to own this and glad I saved the $$$. I would take my old commercial unit over this in a heartbeat, but those were about half the size of my oven, and probably cost five times as much as said oven. A good product.

Works perfectly … with one tiny adjustment!
Unlike most reviewers, we bought this Slicer solely for slicing sourdough bread, not meat, although meat slices beautifully. We were hoping to be able to - finallllly - thin-slice the bread which is always so tough! (Hand-slicing our fav brand is like slicing a football! Lol) THE TINY ADJUSTMENT: We started with the non-serrated slicer blade, per the manual’s instructions, but that blade only made a dent in the bread! Oh, noooooooo! Before totally giving up on our thin-sliced sourdough dream, we tried the SERRATED BLADE “just for kicks,” as my husband suggested! TOTAL SUCCESS!!! No need to dismantle the slicer in order to clean! The shelf tilts down so you can get at every single crumb of bread (or meat). HOWEVER*******TIP******PLEASE, though, if you decide that you do want to take the blade OFF and wash it (due to slicing a softer meat like meatloaf, for instance) *******PLEASE DO WASH the blade BY-HAND in order to MAINTAIN its RAZOR-SHARPNESS. ****** (The DISHWASHER will- without fail -and -very quickly- DULL these slicer blades -just as it DULLS any sharo blade, like knives.) ********When putting (either) blade back on the slicer, please don’t forget to actually LOCK it back on! (It’s easy to lock the blade, just twist it to the right a tiny bit until it clicks) It’s really easy to adjust the size of the slice, too… and, wonderfully, it stays there without slipping to a larger or smaller size as some slicers definitely do! **********TIP: We freeze the sourdough just a little bit to make the top crust not shred - which our favorite sourdough definitely does do if it’s too “soft” (at room temperature). PHOTO shows: Left, front: Beautiful thin-sliced piece of our beloved sourdough (sliced thin by this slicer 😄) in the middle, an “ugly, thick” piece of our beloved sourdough (sliced supposedly ‘thin” by hand 😡 ) + a piece of regular white bread 😐 at the top-right of the picture for thickness comparison. This machine is surprisingly lightweight, but the suction cups on the bottom hold the machine as FIRMLY in place as can be! (Sometimes, if distracted by mistake, we leave our loaf a little too long in the freezer and need to push harder to slice the little bit more-frozen loaf, but, thanks to the excellent suction cups, the machine doesn’t move one bit while even pushing a little harder!) To now be able to enjoy our fav sourdough, thin-sliced, thanks to this Slicer, is, literally, a long-awaited dream come true for us!!! We are so grateful. Think I’ll make us some toast now that I’ve finished typing!!! Yum! Yum!

Works with reservations
Slices well but has a short throw. My Canadian bacon fits fine, but pork belly bacon is too long. Anything over 7" will require manipulation to make a cut. The alternative is to cut the bacon to length and have shorter pieces. And it is a PITA to clean. Haven't tried cheese yet.

Good quality for the low price- and stainless steel!
This Meat Slicer, 200W Electric Food Slicer with 2 Removable 7.5" Stainless Steel Blades set is very easy to clean- even after getting turned orange from slicing 50 lbs. of carrots to get them ready for par boiling and vacuum packing for freezing. The blade turns slower than expected but cuts easily when you do not try to force it- with the stainless-steel guide tray and the clear plastic holder and hand powered feeder/ holder that slides on a bar area. I put vegetable oil on the bar, and this helps the plastic guide to slide back and forth smoothly when slicing. I am very happy with this lower priced slicer, and it has plenty of power with the two blades that are very easy to remove and change/out. The smooth-edged blade for vegetables, etc. and the grooved blade for meats, etc. Very good instructions are included, and this unit is easily worth twice the price. Always wanted one of these and now- definitely picked the right one! Excellent find!

Great place to start but will leave you with much to be desired.
Cleaned blades out of box. Had to remove the mounts with a screw driver. Not a big problem just inconvenient if you want to deep clean. First test was on a cold cut turkey breast out of the fridge. I was not able to get paper thin cuts using serrated blade. It came out more carved style with a lot of shredding. I may have been pushing it against the platform too hard. Maybe wrong blade despite the picture showing to use it for meat. Next test was for cold havarti cheese. It barely made through a few slices using the straight edge as the description shows a picture of. It had a heavy mechanical burning smell. Like the motor was giving out. Granted havarti is a sticky cheese but I expected it to work without so much resistance. Also several slices came out with black mechanical gunk on them despite cleaning the machine. I am now freezing the meat and cheese to test to see if it's easier or worse. **Update August 2nd 2023** I've been using it atleast once a week on deli meat and cheese and it's performing the same. Atleast it's consistent! It's a complete hassle to clean and really causes a mess towards the end of whatever you're cutting. Like meat and cheese confetti everywhere. Trying to wipe up cheese crumbles just shmears them into the surface of the counter. I will say chedder cheese does cut better than havarti but still crumbles the cheese towards the end. You will not be able to get consistent uniform thin slices no matter what. To change the side of the cuts the blade becomes less angled and does not align evenly with the back plate. Imagine a circular slice of salemi. It will be thicker on one side getting gradually thinner to the other side. Usually it will end up looking like a waxing gibbos phase of a full moon. You will have to rotate the food often or it will come the same shape as the end of an eraser from a pencil box. My biggest gripe is the gap between the pusher plate and the blade of about 1/4inch. It doesn't seem like a lot but about 1lb of meat and deli cheese is the width of 1inch. This leaves about 1/4 lb of product unable to be cut safely. It slides right through the gap. You will have to use a knife to not waste your product at the end. This is frustrating if you portion your meat and cheese out in 1-2 Pounds servings for the week. *update 11/23 knocked down to 1 star* Added pictures of how this thing turns semi frozen medium hard chedder cheese into confetti. Did not you dare try cutting cheese that is soft or warm. This is about half lb of cheese including cheese on the floor not pixtured. Notice the large pieces of broken cheese stuck between the gap of the guide and the blade. This amount of cheese is about 5 slices wasted. This is using the 5 thinness setting which should be considered the lowest setting. It will not cut anything if the dial is lower than that. When you adjust the dial it adjusts the food plate on an angle but NOT the blade. This means the lower the setting the less blade will be used since it does not close the length between the plate and the blade evenly. Motor is starting to smell with less pressure, guide is sticking now, and overall wish I purchased a different brand.

se ve buen producto
se ve muy bien todavía no lo uso, pero de entrada me gusto espero funcione como espero cuando lo use, lo que si hice fue conectarlo para ver su velocidad y no se ve potente, pero considero que para el jamón serrano si va servir.

When is a slicer nota slicer
The slicer stopped working within a few seconds of trial, without a load. The plastic pusher is somewhat flimsy, and would not stand up to any serious use. Perhaps I am expecting too much for £148, and to be fair, they have issued a full refund on the slicer's return, hence the 3 stars.

EXCELENTE
